Dr. Benjamin Matheson grew up in a Saskatchewan playing almost all sports. As a member of his university track and field team, he combined a love of sports with his pursuit of a kinesiology degree (completed in 2008, University of Regina) in a quest to better understand all how exercise and physical activity interact with injury, pain and health. Since graduating from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, in 2011, Dr. Benjamin Matheson has enjoyed working in many different settings in Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Ontario.
Treatments Dr. Benjamin Matheson’s approach to treatment includes a combination of hands on treatment, exercise and advice. This includes manipulation/mobilization, soft tissue treatment, Graston technique, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, exercise, advice, and referral to optimize results for patients. With each condition, a thorough assessment is key. Decisions for care are always made in a cooperative fashion (patient-focused approach) to ensure that you are presented with the best conservative options for care.
Training and Experience The majority of Dr. Benjamin Matheson’s experience has been in a team based environment. An experience that has always informed his practice has been his time spent as a track a field coach for sprinters with Regina’s Excel Athletika Track and Field Club, and the Regina Chapter of Special Olympics track and field team. His proudest accomplishment was seeing one of his athletes go to the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles in 2015.
