Dr. Shabash graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tripoli in Libya in 2000. In 2008, he was awarded a certification in family medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. In 2020, he was recognized as a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada in acknowledgment of his contributions and dedication to family medicine throughout his career, maintaining a high level of professionalism and patient advocacy, as well as his efforts to advance the medical community.
Dr. Shabash remains actively engaged in his field as a member of the Canadian Medical Association and the Ontario Medical Association. He has also been involved with the LMCC Medical Committee, which provides care for war-injured patients in Libya and Canada. He has served as the Medical Director of the Libyan Medical Committee in Canada (LMCC) and the Lead Physician for the Libyan Canadian Medical Association (LCMA) primary care project in Libya. Additionally, he is a member of the physician advisory group at Seamless Care to Optimize the Patient Experience (SCOPE).
As a Family Physician at the South Keys Health Center in Ottawa, Ontario, Dr. Shabash is the Lead Physician. He employs innovative diagnostic and treatment techniques with his colleagues to care for patients. The services offered include laboratory testing, immunizations, injections, cardiology assessments, chronic disease management, and respiratory examinations. With an on-site laboratory, the South Keys Health Center strives to provide a convenient experience for each patient. Dr. Shabash and his team are dedicated to treating their patients with respect, knowledge, and expertise to develop the best individualized care plans collaboratively.
Attributing his success to his passion for helping others and advocating for patients, Dr. Shabash enjoys reading, exploring history, and actively participating in non-profit patient advocacy projects.
